Family Time — Making Tuna Patties
Have you recently found yourself eating more meals at home around the kitchen table? With a little more time on our hands and fewer places for families to go, it’s a great time to introduce children to cooking, building some important life skills and, hopefully, having fun in the process.
Tuna is a family favorite when it comes to a quick, wholesome entrée. A part of the mackerel family, this light saltwater fish is easy to buy canned or packaged, making it a high protein, flavorful pantry go-to for a weeknight meal.
In this Homegrown episode, join Michelle Estrada, N.C. Cooperative Extension’s Family and Consumer Sciences agent in Wayne County, and her children as they show us how to make easy tuna patties. Try this at home and look forward to hearing a little less, “Mom, what’s for dinner?” and a little more, “Mom, dinner’s ready!”
